Today’s post starts with an image from one of my favorite spots on the lake, one I have photographed many times before! https://davefaitlemonde.com/2018/06/10/crystal-lake-valley-county/ https://davefaitlemonde.com/2018/07/20/mcchrystal-at-crystal/ https://davefaitlemonde.com/2020/06/05/crystal-lake-and-clair-mountain-payette-national-forest-idaho/ https://davefaitlemonde.com/2020/10/31/crystal-lake-payette-national-forest-idaho/
As the sun comes up we enjoy a few moments in camp.
Coffee!
A little fishing….
and a photo session with Ruby.
Then John says “Lets go on a 30 minute walk”. All of my regular viewers know this means pack a lunch!
The objective of this 30 minute walk was to do a slight climb up the shoulder of Clair Peak (seen below) and check out the views. Well, we got to this pond below the peak and our objective then changed to climbing the peak. Shocker!
This peak was not a grand objective but would definitely take more than 30 minutes. If you look carefully, you can see John in this image. If you look very carefully, you can see Ruby but due to the low resolution of this web photo some imagination will be required.
A couple of climbing photos.
Summit! (Happy John!!!!)
Taking a break on the decent back to camp. We basically made one big loop around the lake.
One final image of Crystal Lake. We surrender you to the summer crowds now and will see you again in the Autumn!
