One more full day of trail work. We broke into two groups. David and I headed for the trail above the camp while the rest of the team headed down into the pit of despair.
While the temperatures were warm, David and I were working near 8000 feet with a nice breeze.
None of us noticed this small pond when hiking in a couple days ago. Lakes and ponds are relatively rare in this part of the wilderness.

Later in the day, the smoke free party came to an end.
We were up early the next morning to make the 7 mile pack back to the trailhead.
Luckily the smoke was not too bad. Turns out yesterday’s smoke was from a fire which was a goodly distance south of our location. Moving forward, regional smoke would start kicking our butts.
