It was college jersey day today with Mary Ellen and Larry sporting the U of M Maize and Blue.

Maize colored fields with Maize colored jerseys.

Jasov cemetary with Premonstratensian Monastery in the background.

Premonstratensian Monastery close up.

Inside the Monastery, a very ornate place.

Not something this group does well….. below that is a no pictures sign but I didn’t photograph that.

After the religious experience we climbed to Poproč.

Larry and I pose by the mushrooms.

After lunch Larry and I attacked the climb up to Kojsov Ridge. It’s about a 2200 foot climb and with Bonnie the Electron a DNS, the K(Q)OM was up for grabs. Larry was feeling pretty spunky but I was able to stay on his wheel.

At the top we have a giant relatively flat ridge. Apparently they shuttle cross country skiers up here and have amazing groomed trails for those Nordic types!

Summit trash as John would call it.

Nordic Center.

You ask “How do the nordic skiers get to the top? No downhill runs on this mountain.

Larry hams it up for the cameras.

Perhaps the Village of Helcmanovce down below? Also, I believe the Muránska Planina Mountains barely visible in the background. The highest peaks in Slovakia.

Far down below and off to the east is the City of Košice which is the second largest city in Slovokia.
