With winter hanging on in McCall, I decided to head down to the lower elevations of the Salmon River.

After driving about 2 hours, mostly in a snow storm, I ended up at the Reed Ranch which is just below the snow line.

As the afternoon turned to evening, the forecast clearing skies appeared to be arriving.

I’m planning to spend a couple days down here riding my bike and bagging a peak or two. This one is called Miner’s Peak and at 8000 feet tall or 4000 feet above my camp, I expect the snow there will not clear until at least July. Check out previous climbs of Miner’s Peak here.
