Monsaraz (Day 2), Portugal

Scroll down to content

We woke up to another stunning morning here is Southeast Portugal. (iPhone shot)

After breakfast and copious amounts of coffee, it was time to put our shoulders to the peddle.

Miscellaneous rider pictures from the day:

Our trusty support van!

The rolling fields to the north of Monsaraz.

These are the oak trees that produce cork. The farmers peal the bark off every 8 to 10 years. Portugal is an important producer of cork for the world and a bunch of it comes from this region. The bark has recently been removed from these trees and they turn red to heal.

Rolling a pace line.

A beautify home in one of the local villages.

Citrus!

Trusty steed, my substitute for Ruby who I miss very much.

Our van support, never far away!

The e-bikers planning their attack on the road bikers…..
