Perseids Meteor Shower, McCall, Idaho

Scroll down to content

Up early this morning to shoot the Perseids meteor shower.  Turns out it is challenging to capture the little basterds!  Look closely!

A good part of the challenge for this year’s shower was that a fairly bright moon was up all night.  There was only about 10 minutes between moonset and the astronomical twilight, a period of maximum darkness.

I had a lot of photos like this, an empty net!

Notice the airplane moving above the mountains.
