What a gorgeous day in paradise…… except for the smoke! My good buddy Tad was looking for some forest time and a birthday ride so he came today to visit. I did this ride about a month ago and suffered mightily…. Tad promised to take it easy on me so off we went. Part of the way up the mountain I needed to snap this image of the New Meders area so I could send it to all my Meders friends and make fun of them…….
As we approached the summit, a glance down at Ponderosa Park reviled a controlled burn there too….. all my Meders fodder was gone! John used to call these, “Uncontrolled Burns”.
Despite the smoke, we were enjoying the day. I checked the forecast before we left and the wind gusts were forecasted at 2 miles per hour. That sounds about right! My friends down in Florida are staring down the barrel of a Cat 2 Hurricane…. I’ll take the smoke thank you.
