Blackwell Lake – Valley County, Idaho

Any of my followers who are paying minimal attention to my posts this summer have notice a change….. Turns out I have some….. let’s call them “ overuse injuries”. I’ve been forced to shut down the hiking, mountain climbing, and backpacking. Yes, it is mentally painful. However, not all is lost, I have a green light to ride my bike. Soooooo after a few weeks of whipping my cycling fitness into some kind of form, I’ve finally been able to document an adventure that is Davefaitlemonde worthy!

Blackwell lake is a very close in yet fairly epic ride, certainly no give me. In the distance is Little Payette Lake. In the foreground is (are?) the hint of fall colors in the foliage.

Blackwell Lake is more like Blackwell Puddle this time of year.

Anne takes in the views from near the top of the ridge.

The worm has turned on the weather. At the top of the ridge my thermometer read 55 degrees. With the breeze and the sweaty kit, there was quite a chill.

Lake Payette.

Finally, our steeds take a break to rest their brakes for the plunge back to the bottom.
