Caesar’s Head, South Carolina

Ceasar”s Head is one of the bigger climbs you will find in these parts and when coupled with a 100 mile loop, it makes for a long day.

As someone from the Rocky Mountains, its unusual for me to climb and almost never get views.

Finally at the top, a gap in the trees. Total elevation for this climb was about 2400 feet. With all the rollers to and from, I ended up with about 8000 feet of climb for the day.

On the back side, you drop into North Carolina.

This loop ranks pretty high on my all time great road ride list!

Tomorrow’s ride, 74 miles and 4800 feet of climb….. an easy day!
