The day after a big hike and I need to get out and spin my legs. Usually in April, I am in the South of France so never get to see Lake Payette in the Spring. Generally, the lake thaws right around the 1st of May so by the time I arrive here for the summer I have miss the spring melt.
No worries about getting hot with the intense sunshine as any breeze comes off the snow pack and acts like an air conditioner.
Reflections on the first signs of melt.
