W.G. Jones State Forest, Spring, Texas

An easy spin today took me out to the W.G. Jones State Forest, a place I have blogged about on several occasions. It’s not much of a mountain bike ride but it’s about as good as you will find here in town. Today, I took my friend Ali along for what was essentially his first ever mountain bike ride. Ali is relatively new to the sport of cycling and is a very strong rider. However, he is typical of many of my Texas riding friends in that he only rides a road bike. It is my job to try and expand their horizons. As I always tell Ali, road riding in The Woodlands represents only a very small tip of the cycling iceberg. There is so much more out there in the world cycling wise!

We made my usual stop at the pond for a picture.

As y’all can see, Spring has sprung in Spring!
