Salmon River Road, Idaho County, Idaho

Scroll down to content

When looking to take a break from winter around these parts, people head down to the Salmon River which is about 3000 feet lower in elevation. My good friend Rich wanted to celebrate his birthday with a bike ride so we packed up the cross bikes and headed down! For Rich’s birthday, I gave him the present of being today’s blog photographer. All photos today are by Rich.

The Salmon River in this part of Idaho is quite unique and the River Road is a quiet ribbon into the wilderness.

Make a right turn here and eventually you end up in McCall, although not this time of year.

The Manning Crevice Bridge, an incredible feat of engineering. Thanks Rich for the photos. I temporarily lost my iPhone and was without a camera for this trip. Talk about a helpless feeling! Rich saved the day!
