Every month on the morning and the evening before the full moon, the ideal astronomical alignment occurs for moonset and moonrise photography. This phenomena occurs right around sunset and sunrise and therefore, almost every month on this day I find myself stalking the moon early in the morning and late in the evening. Those of you who follow this blog probably already know this…. and you also know that for a variety of reasons, I’m not so good at this hunt! Yet, once again, here I present my moon stalking photographs!

This morning’s built in reason for no good full moon image is that it was pretty overcast…… and I don’t really own a great lens for moon shots. Therefore, I pointed my camera in other direction. Here, a self portrait.
