Snowslide Peak, Payette National Forest

Snowslide Peak is a classic Valley County Climb, one which John has probably climbed at least a couple dozen times.  See http://www.splattski.com  Today, we approached from the South Flank going past Golden Lake along the way.

It was a beautiful Spring morning in the canyon.  All the small creeks along the canyon walls were raging!

Off in the distance, center image is Slick Rock and the Crystal Lake Basin.

After a 2000′ vertical climb, we took a small break at Golden Lake.  Only this small area near the Lake’s outlet was ice-free.

After a short break at the Lake, we pressed on to the summit.

We have named the peak directly under the sun Platt Peak.  If you look closely, you can see John just to the left of mid-image.  He was patiently waiting for me as I shot my photography.

When we hit the ridge, we took a moment to get a family portrait.  Maki Lake is below.
