The weather has turned, it’s clear, morning lows around 60 and highs in the high 70s, no wind, beautiful!!! Today started out with breakfast in a peaceful garden at the hotel and a good hard ride on my new road bike! It was great to hammer again although I’ve certainly lost my form since the accident. Three hours of hard riding on hilly roads mostly with zero traffic….. I mean zero! Saturday morning and for much of the ride, I passed only cyclist. Much of the route had new butter smooth pavement. I suspect that the Tour de France used this route recently as many times they will lay down new pavement prior to the race. Here, it’s common to come access butter smooth pavement on small back country roads where the route has crossed in recent years.
