Bonjour mes aimes! For the first time on this trip, I was able to use the rest day to do a little exploration of the area. Originally, I intended these “rest days” to be days full of exploration of the small towns and countryside nearby. With my accident recovery, they have actually been rest days.
Today, I felt good enough and confident enough to do a small ride. I left this morning around 10:30 and rode for about an hour. I stumbled upon a route called the “Voles Vertes et Veloroute” which translates roughly to “Green Scenic Roads and Cycling Routes” Although not a dedicated cycling route, as you can see from the photo, it might as well be!
After a little web search after I returned, I found this information which basically outlines a comprehensive network of these routes throughout the country…… isn’t France cool!!
