On a gorgeous day in the McCall area, Tom and I were looking for a good solid day hike. After a quick review of places Tom has not been, we selected Maki Lake. This however, is not Maki Lake, it is Snowslide Lake which is a rest area on our way up and over the ridge.

It was a nice cool morning, the temperature at the car when we left, 37 degrees. This climb is quite strenuous so the cool air and shade was nice. This image looks down on Snowslide Lake and across the way at Pot Peak and Beaverdam Peak.

A the saddle on the ridge we stop and have a snack. With the fall colors and clear air it was magical here. The last two times I visited this saddle I was dodging thunderstorms. See that here and here.

After a goodly amount of time, we arrive at Maki Lake.

A few moments later we took to fishin!

After that I took to picture takin!

Back up and over the ridge we get a nice view of Sawtooth Peak which is one of my favorites.

Snowslide Lake bathed in different light.

One final view of the Upper Snowslide Creek Basin with shadows, fall colors, lake views, and Lick Creek Mountains in the background. What a beautiful day!
