Tom and I are heading out for an adventure we have been talking about for about 4 years. Each year we have planned this late summer trek but for various reasons it was bumped ahead another year. Well, it’s actually happening! Our plan, head past the Boulder Lakes and just keep going.

Looking down on the Boulder Lakes.

The first stop on this adventure, Malony Lake. To get there we descend this spicy little hill into the Malony Lake Basin. An overnight here then we will be going over the ridge in the distance and then beyond. John, Craig, Ruby, Dakota, and I visited this lake back in June of 2021…. it looked a little different then, check it out here.

Looking down the South Fork of the East Fork of the Lake Fork Creek.

Malony Lake as seen in late summer.

After setting up camp it was time for Tom to whip some water.

Moving around to better fishing spots.

Big rocks around Molony Lake. A closer look at this image and you can see Tom on top of the big rock.

After fully whipping this lake into shape, we head in for appetizer hour and a quiet evening.
