Circuit of the Americas – Austin Texas

My son Michael was doing a driving school and I offered to support him….. you know, carry his helmet, feeding him dinner, driving him to and from the venue.

To my great delight, I went to race control and applied for a photographer’s pass…. they granted me this pass and I was given full track access. Boom!

Michael battening down the hatches.

Keep in mind that action sports photography is not my bag and stretches my skill set but off we go! In the end, I walked both the inside and outside of the track along with a bunch of other access areas. It was a good warm up for hikes later this week.

Bottom of Turn 2. The track paint was still in tip top shape after last month’s F1 Race.

Turn 3 I believe.

Guess what car number Mikey was driving?!?

Turns 4 and 5 I think.

The famous tower.

Bridge over the back stretch.

Wide angle of Turn 1.

They offered up access for the tower but I passed…. you can find images from the top on line.

Turn 12.

Happy son, happy life!
