The next stop on my Tour Du Sud is Mckinney Falls State Park. Long term views might remember this from a couple years ago….. check it out here.

First up this morning, I wait for a cold front to push through. After that, I should have great weather for the foreseeable future. And by cold front I mean that it is going from the high 70s to the low 70s but at least the humidity will go down.

These Live Oak Trees in the South are amazing.

I figured out why this trail is call “Cactus Garden”.

More amazing trees. Many of these trees are Pecan Trees and this time of the year they are dropping pecans everywhere. Coincidentally, the squirrels here are fat!

Wildlife.

Cyprus Trees along Onion Creek. I found one (not shown) that had a plaque calming it was the 2012 Austin Tree of the year. It was about 500 years old.

More Onion Creek images.

This trail is call the Rock Shelter Trail.

An interesting wide angle view from the back of the Rock Shelter.

Slick Rock Texas style.

Lower Mckinney Falls is pretty tame even after the morning rains.

Zoom Zoom.

Finally, Old Man Mckinney’s Place I presume.
