Today brought my annual stick walk along the edge of Payette Lake. This year with the recent warm temperatures, I made sure not to get too far away from the lake’s edge. This year, the ice is like a thin waffle cone.

What is a stick walk my southern friends might ask? Well, strap sticks to your hands and feet and go for a walk in the snow.

Black Tip Mountain off in the distance. I need to re-climb that mountain this year, it has been a while! Check out the last climb here. Wow, that was 2018.

This is where I turned around….. It gets deep fast here and this ice is thin!

Just follow these tracks back home, you can’t get lost!

Welcome Home !!
You are brave to be out on the lake at all !!
