Today was a transfer day to a town near the center of the universe for cycling, Bédoin, France. It was also a needed rest day before our Tour de Provence. I strolled around town after sunset and had some fun with light.

This is the final roundabout before the climb of Mont Ventoux, take the first exit right and you have a short warm-up followed by about 20 kilometers of pain. (4500 feet of climb, average grade about 11% with a maximum of 23%) It’s one of the top 10 iconic cycling climbs in the world. I climbed it in 2006 and hope to get to it again this week. November is not an ideal month for an assault, I talked with a rider who did it yesterday and he said it was snowy, windy and cold. Today calls for high winds up there so we are hoping for a window on Thursday or Friday…… By the way, Ventoux means windy in French!
