Saturday turned out to be a glorious day which was good because we had 4 peaks to bag! See John’s trip report here if you haven’t already. We were up fairly early so I grabbed a quick shot of Sheep Lake.
He Devil, here we come!
I was a very cool climb with lots of views and little exposure, which makes me happy!
Speaking of views, there are at least 10 lakes in this image….can you find them all? Wow!
Hells Canyon behind them.
Platt brothers reaching the saddle just before the summit (on the left).
Taking in the southern view from the summit saddle.
Summit de le jour, #1!
The decent off the back side of He Devil…… was hell! 300 vertical feet of class 4. No problem for the brothers but I was scared to death!!!!!
Notice the lake below.
Pictures don’t really do this decent justice but from a distance it looks pretty impassable! She Devil goes up off the image to the right, He Devil is the next peak on the right and we came down the rocks just to the right of the scree shoots.
Peak de le jour #2, The Ogre with a view of Peak de le jour #4 in the distance left. (Mt. Baal)
Climbing Peak de le jour #3, She Devil. John is pointing out the summit saddle we are headed for with the peak just off to the left.
A view down to Sheep Lake and our camp from the summit of She Devil.
Tom on top of Mt. Baal.
Finally, a view from our scree field decent as we headed back down to camp. Check out this video of our decent on the scree field.
Make sure to check back tomorrow for Part 2 of Day 3 and the exciting surprise we had at base camp!!!!
