Ruby Mountain, Valley County, Idaho

Today John, Ruby and I were off to bag a couple of peaks which have been on John’s wish list for quite a while.  See John’s report at http://www.splattski.com   The first peak of the day is an unnamed peak we dubbed “Forest Mountain” as the forest was fairly dense and there weren’t a lot of views.  Here is John using his GPS to try and identify the actual high point which was not obvious.

Well, that was not the actual high point, but here is the actual peak:

After that warm up peak, it was off to the next and ultimate destination for the day, Ruby Mountain!  Here are John and Ruby on the summit rock.

Views!  The snowcapped  Loon Lake Mountains, mid image and if you look carefully under them, you can just make out Loon Lake.  The wide angle lens makes these views seem quite distant.

Here is Ruby, taking a break on top of Ruby Mountain.  We estimated she ran about 30 miles today!

Image of the day, pretty flowers!
