Stage 13 Moissac to Montauban

Today was a pancake flat stage along an old canal system.  The canal de deux mers or canal of two seas, was constructed in the 16th century and connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic   It was used in times gone by to transport goods from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean witbout the need to travel the dangerous Straights of Gibraltar.  Today it is used as a recreation route for bikes, runners, picnics, and pleasure boats, essentially campers on boats….
