After some good windy driving from Texas, I arrived at my camp site in Water Canyon.

It has been a good long time since I threw a leg over my bicycle. Time to go big or go home! I departed nice and early as I knew this was going to take a bit.

My goal today is to ride up South Baldy Peak which from the campground is about a 4000 foot climb. Luckily today things are quite a bit cooler. In fact, one might say cold!

I have not done a serious ride for quite some time, months in fact, this one is kicking my butt!

This ride reminds me a lot of my Big Southern Butte ride with Brian. Check that out here.

Up, Up, I go! Switchbacks below.

I did stop often to shoot photographs.

After battling the heat for the last week plus, this was definitely interesting to see. I was however at abut 10,000 feet.

As I near the top, check out the observatory! More space themes! This is the Magdalena Ridge Observatory.

I guess this is where I turn around.

It was a glorious day today. After a nearly 4000 foot climb, I was feeling pretty knockerded.

Very impressive views.

One last shot of the ridge then it is a white knuckled decent without as much as a pedal stroke.
