I have been doing some remote camping for a few days so I have a little blog catching up to do….. Today I was headed further to the west on a trail much less traveled. Again, it was an early start to avoid the mid day heat.

It was nice and cool down in the bottom of the draw however the party was about the end.

It wasn’t long in the sun before things felt hot.

Today’s trek will need to be much more mellow. After yesterday’s 12 plus mile day I was needing more of a stroll.

Once up on the ridge, things were pretty mellow.

In the distance, one of yesterday’s high points, Lost Peak.

The rolling canyons of Dog Creek.

Finally, up on my high point today, the views into New Mexico seem to go forever.
