City of Rocks State Park – New Mexico

Scroll down to content

I arrived at my new campsite after a goodly drive through central New Mexico. City of Rocks is a park just south of Silver City, New Mexico.

City of Rocks? I’m surprised they don’t have this one covered up for the kids and the immature adults.

After arriving, I headed out for the park’s high point which is called Table Mountain.

The high point is accessed on this fairly mellow trail.

Looking down on the park it looks more like a grove of trees.

As the sun set I was treated to a good old western painting.

The light just kept getting better.

This park has the feel of the old west.

More rocks!

My camp bathed in evening sunlight.

How many ways can I shoot this rock?

Wow!

I do question putting the water well right below the outhouse so I won’t be drinking the water.

Well, I think that I have mined out this sunset. A wonderful way to end the day.
