It’s been quite an adventure since my last post, some of which y’all will learn about as I continue these Central American Blog Posts. Next up on the agenda was a hike up to Ceremonial Cave.

It’s a pretty intense hike in the rain forest with slippery tread and lots of things around that bite and sting.

The rope was helpful….

After a goodly tine we reached the mouth of the cave. The mouth was immense and we descended down using these ropes.

As we descended, the mouth got more and more narrow.

Pardon my low light photography.

One final shot looking out the mouth.

Moving on in. The Maya used this system to do human sacrifices. It was pretty apparent there were no virgins in this group so nobody was likely to get sacrificed!

Reflection pools.

I’m not much of a spelunker but this was still kinda fun.

Later on Larry and I went for a little hike.

Finally, a picture of me taken by Larry. Thanks Larry!
