Cathedral Gorge State Park (Day 1) – Panaca, Nevada

Scroll down to content

After a goodly drive, I arrive in the warmer climates of Southern Nevada.

Apparently there is an erosive layer in the earth here that creates these interesting hillsides….. kinda looks like elbow skin…. or the top of a morel mushroom.

Okay, a cathedral rock, I see it!

I arrived mid afternoon and started off with a warm up hike to stretch the travel legs.

More cathedral rocks!

Such interesting textures!

Wall art.

More elbow skin.

That was a good appetizer, tomorrow I will take a more serious hike.
