Nature Hike in Rio Nuevo Nature Preserve – Puerto Jiménez, Costa Rica

Scroll down to content

We have now finished the cycling part of this vacation so now it’s on to other adventures.

Our Backroads group heads out to a local nature preserve but in Coast Rica, sometimes the access is not easy. For this portion of the car ride we exited the vehicles and walked the eroded stretch of the river.

Our drivers were afraid the bank might collapse so they drove the cars without the tourists.

More useful live fence posts.

The nature preserve.

This preserve was to establish and expand native forests in the area.

Time for some tree pictures.

This was a big one!

Actually not trees….. bamboo is a grass.

Butterfly! You don’t see these in Idaho, well at least this time of year.

I’m guessing these mushrooms are not edible.

Tropical flowers.

More flowers. Another great day in Paradise!
