Today it was all about Lake Arenal.

Tropical flowers.

Of course The Arenal Volcano looms over all of this region.

At first I thought this sign was indicating a lava crossing ahead…… after further examination and some linguistic thought, I realized that Fauna means “animal”….duh!

One of the two dams on Lake Arenal.

At today’s pit stop the restaurant was feeding the birds……. shooting birds is not easy for a landscape picture taker. Here is my best effort.

Finally, after riding along the lake for quite a while and seeing mostly jungle, the lake views started to appear.

Jungle meets lake.

Looking back up the lake from where we rode, I could see it was now raining.

A small taste of the road we were Backroading.

Jungle flowers meet the Lake.

At the end of this ride we took this boat, I think its name was the SS Minnow. However, this tour was only 45 minutes.

Our motley crew.

Amazing views from the lake.

After hiding in the clouds for most of the boat trip, The Arenal Volcano drops her shroud for a few moments.

The sleeping giant with a blanket of filter enhanced clouds. Another great day on our Backroads day.
