Around these parts if you want a little taste of Spring weather in December, one can occasionally head down to the Salmon River Canyon. A couple weeks ago, Tom and I made the hour drive to Riggins and headed down for a little gravel ride. The last time me recreated down here we ended up on a 7 hour road trip but that is an entirely different story…..
It was a pretty nice day here and we ended up with over 30 miles of beautiful spinning.
In the distance you can see the snow up high. Down here, it was about 45 degrees.

This time of year there aren’t many folks down in the canyon so Tom and I had the place to ourselves.
There are also multiple hiking opportunities down here so you will likely see this canyon again over the months to come.
