Voyage!!! Lauret, France to McCall, Idaho

On my final evening in Lauret I needed to take the garbage out so I decided to turn that into a final walkabout.

While out walking I ran into my now old friend, Chocolat!!!

I went to bed early then it was an O-Dark-Thirty wakeup and drive to the airport where I say good bye to my rental car. I can’t wait to get back home to my old beater pickup truck!

To make the international flights out of Paris which generally leave mid morning, I arrive at the Montpellier Airport about 4:00 am where things are pretty quiet.

I’m in Paris before 8:00 am and it is already feeling like a long day.

As I wait to board my Seattle fight the fog sets in……. good news though, my flight is still on time!

Check out this old school boarding! I feel right at home as if I’m in Lewiston only the stairs to the door are much longer. It’s been a while since I flew threw Paris and now I remember why I generally don’t book flights through here….. They needed the gate so after loading us up they give you the bad news…. the airport is actually closed so we need to wait a bit for the fog to lift. Three hours it turned out!

Seattle! I made it. Well, after three hours on the tarmac in Paris and a 10 hour flight, all without much sleep, it was now a matter of powering through my 4 hour layover for Lewiston.

Do not adjust your screen, this blurry image of flying into Lewiston is actually what my eyes were seeing. After boarding in Seattle, I closed my eyes and the next thing I knew they were announcing our final approach to Lewiston.

After spending the night in Lewiston, I make my way back to McCall. I’m not in Lauret anymore Toto. In all, the journey from door to door was about 41 hours, the vast majority of that I was awake. It’s been nearly three days since I arrive back here and I’m just now starting to feel normal again.
