We got a little bit of a late start on our walk down to the market so the sun was already up.

Outside the apartment the sun was bathing the hillside. After some late day rain yesterday it was nice to see things drying out.

For some reason the grape leaves in this one field are hanging on! Just about everybody who visits me asks why some last longer than others. I have not friggen idea so I asked AI. It was no help.

The lens flare in this image gives us two rising suns.

This homme was more than happy to let Anne photograph his dog.

No walk to the market is complete without a stop at the Lauret Library.

After a hearty breakfast, we were off on our ride. The bread atm! When I say bread, I really mean bread, not cash.

Next up, Our Lady of the Vineyard.

Mark crosses on of the many stone bridges.

Another stone bridge, this one is called Pont de Lecques sur le Vidourle.

I had originally thought that the rail to trail from Sommières to Quissac was complete but after arriving realized it only goes half way…. we planned for a panini in Quissac for lunch but quickly called an audible and headed for Sommières.

This trail is pretty special.

Lunch near the river in Sommières.

One thing I really noticed today was the low sun angle. We are only about 3 weeks from the winter solstice and the days are getting pretty short, even here in the South of France.

Later in the ride, Mark puts the hammer down to get to the coffee stop and shortly there after……CHARCOOCIE!
