Today will be one of the bigger rides we do so extra care was taken at the start.

We made a relatively early start and were soon turning the pedals.

Today’s route takes us near Pic St. Loup.

Oh the French country side, it can be so lovely!

From this angle on Pic St. Loup you can almost imagine that it was a giant mountain and the middle is missing. Oh and notice the glorious day we were enjoying?

After a while we drop into the River Herault canyon.

Another cool stone Bridge over a river.

French hydroelectric project.

Looking south on the River Herault as we climb the other side of the canyon.

Now some French infrastructure we found along the way, first, the supermarket we shopped before the ride, next, a French butcher’s vending machine with sausage, charcoochie tray, and other important French lifestyle elements. Finally, a typical French squatty potty, only this one was very clean!

The village of Causse-de-la-Selle where we had lunch.

The village of Saint-Jean-de-Buèges, this one always take the tourista’s breath away.

A wider version of the same place.

Intersection of the D122, one of the best roads in France.

What a village!

Downtown Saint-Jean-de-Buèges.

On the way back we pass this classic French chateau.

Once again we cross the river.

Jill shoots a picture of me crossing the bridge. Thanks for the image Jill! Go Vandals!

Yes, some cars actually do use this bridge, we could hear the mirrors occasional scrape the sides.

Once final image upon starting the final big climb. I was then too tired to shoot any more….
