Last night we had a bit of a storm but today things looked good to go.

We started our ride by heading northish to Quissac.

In Quissac we cross over the River Vidourie.

Another quaint village in the foothills of the Massif Central.

Sunday morning and the locals were headed out to the bakery.

In Quissac we pick up the local rail trail system. Here the trail splits and the right turn heads further north. We are staying straight to Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort.

Crossing the River Vidourie.

Is turned into a blue bird day and we had the trail to ourselves.

More random ruins.

Belle Noir poses.

Crossing the viaduct over Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort.

Dave and Jill rolling across the viaduct. To clear up any confusion that would be Sister Jill and Brother in Law Dave.

I always like looking down on this road. I took it a couple years ago on a grand mountain adventure. See that report here.

I tried to talk these guys into stoping to do some exercises before crossing into the tunnel. It appears they were ignoring me!

Coffee in downtown Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort.

Pompignan is a small town along the route, it also means fireman.

Pompignan has some of the best tree lined routes leading into the village.

The statue points to Lauret and I’m guessing the old faded text on the base reads the next village is better!
