My friend Art is on the Valley County Soil Conservation Board and he put the call out to the McCall “A” team to help with a restoration project along the Payette River. Of course the “A” team snapped into action!

What a gorgeous morning!

I had never been down to this section of the Payette River. It was quite beautiful but most importantly, I found several new miles of potential gravel grinding. (not pictured)

After a briefing by the Idaho Fish and Game Service we all went to work breaking rocks and planting willows along the eroding banks. Here is the before picture.

And after……. just kidding!

Of course no gorgeous fall morning is complete without a good controlled burn!

After an hour or two of busting rocks with the other volunteers, the “A” Team breaks off and forms their own sub crew. Generally we don’t get along well with others.
