Day 3 brings another fine morning! Today we start with an image from the top of Dogslide Peak.

Dogslide Peak is the peak in the sun. Our route takes us up the gully to the ridge then up the ridge to the summit.

Tom looks down our up route. We weren’t sure if this route was going to cliff out and require a retreat and reclimb. Fingers crossed!

No cliffs, it worked. At the ridge we look over to Lost Art Peak and many others in the distance. After about 7 or 8 years of climbing these mountains with John, Art, Tom and many others, I have been up nearly every one of those peaks! The one we are on however is a first for Tom and I.

Tom enjoys a beautiful morning overlooking Twenty Mile Lakes and just off Tom’s right side, yesterday’s Storm Peak. I turned on my phone here and texted many of my friends. Yesterday, Tom called his Dad from Storm Peak. While most areas in the Idaho Mountains don’t have cell service, the top of most peaks do have service.

Twenty Mile Lakes Basin.

Looking south down the Lick Creek Mountain Range.

After a goodly amount of time enjoying the summit, we head down for an afternoon of fishing.

Long Lake is one or the Twenty Mile Lakes and one I have yet to visit.

The nice day continues.

Later on we head back to camp.

To finish the evening, a sunset photo series. Image #1.
