Lake Rock Lake – Payette National Forest, Idaho

Rich and I were looking for a close in and mellowish hike into a lake with fish. Lake Rock Lake usually checks all those boxes.

After a good grind up the mountain we get nice views of Lake Rock Lake Rock.

What a gorgeous morning!

This is one of my favorite photo spots and those of you who follow might recognize these logs and grass. Check out past blogs here.

After experiencing a little adversity Rich makes his way out to this nice fishing rock.

Few folks can whip the water like Richie!

What a morning!

It didn’t take me long to figure out the fishing was not going to be good today but Rich kept working it like a rented mule.

Part of his motivation was that he knew the trip back to shore was going to be an adventure so he might as well keep whippin!

One final view on our way out of the boulder field and Bear Pete Peak in the distance. Again, no fish were harmed during the shooting of this blog.
