Here in the South, folks do things a little different. In this case, it’s a shrimp boil. Jill and Derek (our neighbor) share the same birthday and one needs no bigger excuse to have a hoe-down.
The men-folk gather round the head “Shrimp Boiler” and everybody tells him a different way to do it.
What is a “Shrimp Boil?” Well…. basically you throw a bunch of stuff into a giant pot with some shrimp and spices, put it on this industrial stove, and cook it up.
The women-folk make up a bunch of other fixins and you have a dinner! Any time you serve popcorn with dinner, you know it is a special occasion!
The party moves on into the evening and eventually the birthday cakes come out. Good times with fun folks! Happy Birthday Jill and Derek!
