Today Tom and I headed down to New Meders and met up with Jenny. Jenny is puppy sitting for Anne and Mark who are currently off in Georgia for a ski trip….. I’ve recently been in Georgia and the skiing wasn’t that great. However, the gravel biking is good there. Jenny promised a local favorite route was a fun ski but at the start, I was not that impressed.

It wasn’t long before the trail and views went off the chart. This loop down here in Meders was pioneered by a locally famous French explorer and bares the name.

Although it was mid afternoon, temperatures were cold. My phone camera was buried deep in the many layers so any stop to shoot photos required removing the sunglasses, gloves, and digging deep to fish out the mobile with my frozen fingers.

By the time I get everything put away and the layers back on, I was skiing by myself.

Let me introduce Coco. This little sweetie is Mark and Anne’s new puppy and she is a sweetheart with a little wild side.

I’m guessing y’all are going to get to know Coco pretty well over the years to come as she will likely be a regular on Davefaitlemonde.com

New Meders is pretty!

Another cool view and I stop to shoot photos.

Then ski by myself.

It was about here that Coco’s wild side came out ad she went to work sniffing out the valley. After a few nervous moments with Jenny saying over and over “Marks going to kill me…. he’s just going to kill me for loosing Coco”, she returns with a big smile on her face.

The sun was super intense in this wide open meadow. After couple miles one gets the layers and temperatures balanced and it is actually quite comfortable.

After a couple hours we head back to Anne’s house. Jenny has been having big partys there every night and to cops have come several times to settle things down. She needed to get back and clean up the beer cans and repair some small damage prior to tonight’s party. Fun! You haven’t been to a party until you have been to a Meders Party!
