It’s my annual winter voyage to McCall. Time to visit winter again, this time the real winter. Getting from Pepsi Cola to McCall is no easy task. I end up on a flight from Dallas to Seattle and while checking out the window I see my old stoping grounds of Idaho Falls through a hazy hole in the clouds. You can just make out the I.F Airport and I grew up in the neighborhoods just to the southeast of that. It looks just how I remember it….frozen in time.

After a long delay in Seattle, I start heading back east towards Idaho. We had some beautiful late evening views out the window so I took to shooting photographs.

Mount Baker rises above the sea of clouds. This peak is on the Summer of 2025 to do list.

From 27,000 feet, the Cascade Mountains look endless.

The low light angle and foggy mountain valleys make for abstract window art. Not too bad considering that I’m shooting through a couple panes of glass.

I arrive in Lewiston for a couple days at the parents place and on a walk around the neighborhood get a photograph of the frozen tundra. Its rare to get long-lasting snow in this valley but apparently 2025 is my lucky snow year!

Tomorrow I finish the journey to McCall via autobus…. sounds like blog worthy material. Stay tuned!
