Devil’s Den State Park, Arkansas

I visited Devils Den a couple years ago on the suggestion of my adopted daughter Mariel. It was just a small bite at the apple so I was anxious to return with Rich and mine this canyon out.

The plan was to wait until about 10 and wait for this cold December morning to warm up….. instead, we bundled up and rolled before 9.

After the first warm up climb we never really though about the cold all day.

Talk about unique features, wow!

Despite being deep into December, hints of fall remain.

Rich rolls under one fo the park waterfalls. This one was just drippy.

These trails are some of the best professionally built mountain bike specific trails that exist.

Log with mushrooms and an attempt at an artsy fartsy image.

More rock features over this drainage.

Higher up the canyon we get a view of Ray’s Creek.

More colors and low angle sunlight with hieroglyphics on the rock.

Speianchi takes a break under this “waterfall”.

Was it cold? Mid day and these icicles have not melted.

Rich loves Arkansas!

After several hours of riding, Speianchi takes a break before rolling back to camp.

Finally, I leave you with this video of a peaceful morning. For my email subscribers, likely you will need to go directly to my web site to view. http://www.davefaitlemonde.com
