Palo Duro Canyon (Day 2) – Canyon, Texas

Scroll down to content

Another beautiful day here in Texas. Today we set out to ride the north half of the park where I have not been.

First up, the Lighthouse Trail. Not sure why they call it the Lighthouse Trail…..

After riding to the base of the Lighthouse, we ditch the bikes and hike up the hill.

Clouds and red rocks.

The geology here is fascinating.

I walk down the technical sections and set up for photo shoots while Rich rode them.

More interesting rock sections.

Le Petite Teton!

My buddies John and Brian climbed the Grand Teton and I bagged the Petite Teton! (Photo credit to Rich)

Trees, trails, and amazing skies.

Le Petite Teton Wash.

This is the Little Fox Loop, what a treat!

As the day wore on and the milage piled up, both Rich and I agreed that this was one of the best rides we had ever done, and we have done some amazing rides.

Rich drops into another cool red rock area.

This one was pretty cool.

At some points along the ride, we made slow progress as we stopped frequently to shoot photos.

More Rich images.

Rich rolling through the boulders.

Finally, a couple images from high up the canyon.

We had an amazing couple days of riding Palo Duro Canyon, next up, a travel day to the next adventure.
