Davis Mountains State Park – Fort Davis, Texas

Today was a repeat mountain bike ride that I did two years ago. Funny how one forgets those hard parts. This is a chunky ride! Last time I did this ride I was on my hardtail. I did remember saying to myself a full squish would be much better….. hence the Speianchi.

In these desert landscapes, these trees are tough!

Everything out here pokes or stings! My arms are chewed up from brushing against the vegetation.

Speianchi takes a break next to a cactus. In the far distance up on the ridge you can just make out the McDonald Observatory.

Below, Texas Highway 118, a fine stretch of cycling road.

More Speianchi breaks.

At the park high point there are amazing views of the Fort Davis Valley below.

I took a similar picture of my bike last time I was here. Did you notice what a nice day it was?

Finally, a Davefaitlemonde.com selfie.
