Mesquite Foothills – Mesquite, Nevada

Scroll down to content

I’m down yonder attending a family wedding so I get to spend the weekend with my kids, always a great treat and I can count on Nicole for wanting to sneak off for a little hike.

A little clicking around the internet and we found a nice foothills hike right outside Mesquite.

We got a fairly early start and yet things were already starting to warm up.

By the time we hit the top of the mesa it was blazing hot.

Beyond the small valley along the Virgin River, there is not much else out here.

Below, the thriving retirement community hassles and bustles, at least as much as a bunch of grey hairs can do that.

Nicole was shooting with her iPhone and snapped this little gem.

At the top of the mesa, we stop to soak in the morning views. I’m not sure about Nicole’s hiking attire but at least she had on her boots.

A look to the South and we find Morman Mountain off in the distance. Better bring some water if you plan to climb that one.

Back down we go and head directly to the nearest store for a cold beverage!
