Peak 7541 and Anderson Lake – Payette National Forest, Idaho

Anderson Lake is an annual hike around these parts but this year, I decided to throw in a peak. 7541 is hardly a blip on the topo map but it still qualifies as a peak and I had never climbed it.

Things were going really well on this 3 mile hike until we hit the huckleberry patch. Our progress ground to a halt.

After a few berry delays, we finally made the ridge above the South Fork of the East Fork of the Lake Fork of the Payette River.

On top of the peak Anne and Art admire the views and Barb checks her text messages. Art had been grumbling about climbing such a silly peak but after reaching the top he was quiet as a church mouse.

Views to the East.

After a little lunch on the peak, we headed toward Anderson Lake. Bill, Tom, and Finn had already broke off that direction to start some fishing. We found out later that Tom threw in an extra bonus hike to boot.

When we arrive at the lake, we start doing lake things, I of course shot some photography…..

Anne and Art took a nap….

Bill went to work whippin water.

After a goodly amount of time, I took the crew on a shortcut back to the trailhead. Our 3 mile hike continues.

Finn stops for a water break and clearly is not happy with the duration of this 3 mile hike.

Anne supervised the East Fork Lake Fork Creek crossing to insure nobody gets wet feet. After about 13 miles, we finally finished up our 3 mile hike. Good times!
