After spending a couple days in Bergen, I have a whole basket of images to share.

We rode up the funicular to the top of a nearby hill and enjoyed the views of the harbor.

While at the top, a short hike reviled the many shades of green.

This is the peak of the summer in Norway and presumably as dry as it gets.

Granbkken.

We decided to take things to a higher level and climbed Ulriken which is about 2000 feet above town.

After the recent rains, it was nice to get a couple of relatively clear days.

At the top of the mountain, a view looking east and from the North Sea shows that Norwegian wilderness is not far away.

Much of Norway consists of vast swaths of wilderness.

The views looking south from Ulriken.

More wilderness and mountain lakes.

Above about 1500 feet, the landscape is treeless as it is winter here much of the year.

Another fjord in the far distance.

Looking north.

Larry summits this nearby peak.

This is a Bergen bluebird day.

The sun halo suggests that high level moisture will bring in more rain tomorrow.

Truth be told, we cheated getting to the top of the mountain.
