Today we are doing the Norwegian Duathlon, by ferry and by bike.

It was a beautiful morning in Oslo when we boarded the ferry and headed south down the Inter Oslo Fjord to the town of Drobak.

Go Norway!

The area is quite reminiscent of the Puget Sound Area.

Motoring!

Iconic Nordic villages abound.

I know mine smells like flowers too!

In Drobak we meet up with our bikes and the Snackroads trip begins.

Larry attacks early and goes on a solo breakaway. He had told me earlier that he was going to get the Backroads Yellow Jersey and keep it from wire to wire.

Larry shatters the peloton on the first climb and solos away. Obviously his secret prostrate training program this Spring was paying dividends now.

I have a good friend back in Idaho who is Nordic and I stoped to take this image for her. Apparently they take their cross country skiing here very seriously!

Further up the road Larry is crushing souls and smashing legs on this opening stage.
